A Tremendous Loss

It is with a heavy heart that we share the following news about the family of Jessica Randall, who is one of the partners at Fluence. Jessica’s oldest daughter, Brittany, was killed in an automobile accident on September 5th in Texas, where she was living. Jessica, her husband, Keith, their daughter, Courtney, and their family and friends are devastated by the loss. We share in their heartbreak.

Brittany was part of the Fluence family. She joined Team Fluence each year to participate in the Race for the Cure. She used her time away from school to help us during tax season and summers. We always appreciated Brittany’s help, especially when she went above and beyond this year to fill in when a team member was on maternity leave. Brittany was always a go-getter. She completed her undergraduate degree in just three years from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and had just started graduate school at the University of Texas Arlington.

Some of you who heard about the news have been in touch asking how you can help. It is due to these requests, and with approval of Jessica and her family, that we are sending this message out to everyone.

You can help Jessica and her family in three ways. First, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Second, please join us in giving Jessica and her family the time and space they need to grieve. We are doing everything possible to keep Jessica’s email and voicemail as empty as possible, and we ask that you do the same by contacting one of the other partners or managers, if needed.

Finally, in lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) in Brittany’s name. Brittany was vice-president of the University of Colorado chapter while in college and was a strong supporter of their mission to have a positive social image of mental health.
